There I was, 9:30 PM, Thursday night. It was a dark and cold night (obviously cold I live in Canada), anyway, I'm racing down the road to get home and I was about 250 feet from my appartment's driveway when the super laim local radio station did something completely unheard of; they playThe Tragically Hip! And to top it off it was my favorite hip song!! Fireworks! Which to me seemed even odder since the only times I hear hip on the radio here is when its one of their more popular songs. I think I've found a new favorite radio station!

So many radio stations have spotlights and features like the 80's flashback and crap like that.. I think we need to start a movement to start a TTH Hour! In the same fashion that Canadian radio stations must play a set percentage of Canadian content, it should be mandatory to carry the TTH hour! I think I'll join politics and have that bill passed hock:

Whenever the Hip were touring in the Southern Ontario area in 2002, 97.7 HITZ FM in St. Catherine's would have Tragically Hip Tuesdays. A Hip song every hour, on the hour. They would go pretty deep into the archives too. They're the only station I know of that still plays Double Suicide, with regularity too.
