I am thinking of bidding on another one at a Canadian Tire here in Ottawa. Do you mind telling us what the winning bid was?

The way I understand it, everyone who bids over $200 "wins" and pays what they bid. Calling them a "charity auction" is a bit misleading.
It is unclear if the artists (hip + photographers) have licensed their images or are being compensated, and it is also unclear how much of your $200+ ends up with the charity.
Last but not least the frame jobs I have seen in local stores leave a lot to be desired. Worth noting that these have not been the hip items, but sports/beatles/etc and look to be done by the same company. The glass they use isn't too far off from a mirror.
For my $200+ I would prefer to hunt down an original poster or buy photographs from the artist and have them professionally framed.
Not trying to shit on your purchase Cochise, but feel this should be disclosed on hipbase since a glut of unlicensed hip merch has surfaced since the announcement.

No offence taken. I bid $250. On the website they are selling for $375, so didn't feel too bad at the price. The one I got looks great, very happy with the quality. Never thought about it being unlicensed, perhaps it is, but quite surprised that Canadian Tire would have anything to do with unlicensed stuff, especially for their own Jumpstart charity program? But could very well be the case, I didn't do any in depth investigation.
At the end of the day though, I don't feel bad about the price, a portion goes to a charity (probably small, but still a portion), and it saves me from making something similar as a memento.

So Scotty12 are you saying that if many different people bid over the $200 they all get one? They must be cranking these out like crazy.
