Just finished Dark Tower IV. Trying to finish them before the movie comes out!

Also in the middle of Fifteen Dogs. Quite a bizarre tale of dogs that are endowed with human intelligence by the gods Hermes and Apollo. Mayhem ensues.

I'm currently reading the latest Johnny Cash biography, Johnny Cash The Life. It's an excellent book so far. Incredibly well written and researched with some great insights from the people who knew him best.

Currently in the middle of The Evolution of God by Robert Wright. Highly recommended.

I get paid to read horribly boring things all day.

I love the idea of reading a book, but my eyes just don't work by the time I get home.

That being said, I just booked a vacation and that's where I read - so I'll probably come by this thread for recommendations in Jan.

just finished City of Mirrors (3rd book in The Passage trilogy) and am now reading Number 2 by Jay Onrait and The Guy on the Left by James Duthie. i needed something light and fluffy :lol:

Finished The Dinner by Herman Koch. A suspense, sort of..... Would I recommend it? While I was mostly annoyed and angered by the characters, I couldn't put it down. The premise is essentially what will psychologically deranged parents do to protect their kids.

Now onto some good old classic EM Forster with A Passage to India.

If you liked The Dinner then check out Summer House with Swimming Pool. Also by Herman Koch, it's the more enjoyable read of the two in my opinion (I read both within the past year). Much like The Dinner, this book has characters that are deeply flawed and unsympathetic. He doesn't create characters for the reader to fall in love with and his books don't leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. He's a very cynical writer.

Right now I'm about half way through All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. It's been sold to me by family as one of the best books they've read over the past few years and so far it hasn't disappointed.

Reading A Hillbilly Elegy right now. It's sad and fascinating.

I loved the movie, so I'm going to read Andy Weir's The Martian.

And since I'm such a fan of the musical, I've got Ron Chernow's Alexander Hamilton on hold at the library.

Finished 'Salem's Lot this week. Fun and easy read as per usual with Stephen King.

Starting a collection of Salman Rushdie short stories and With the Old Breed, an account of WW2 in the Pacific. Supposed to be one of the best books to come out of that war.
