ALL albums back on Billboard Charts this past week
#1

Pretty cool.

"All 17 Hip albums, ranging from their debut EP to their most recent Man Machine Poem, found spots on the Billboard Canadian Albums in the wake of the much-anticipated CBC broadcast of their final tour stop in Kingston, Ont."

Hip mania, the 2nd coming. I love it! That's gotta be a Canadian record for sure.

On a related note, it looks like Universal is officially reissuing the first three albums on vinyl. Release date shows Oct. 16th for all of them. I wonder if these will sound any different than the Music On Vinyl versions that came out in 2013? Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. I'd love to see reissues of DFN, TATH, and PP as well.

Pretty amazing - that's pretty impressive especially when so few people buy music anymore.

I'm really hoping that these sales numbers (and hopefully some solid vinyl sales of the older albums) leads to resissues of DFN, TATH and LBU along with pressings of everything from PP through to WC.

I'll be watching for the RA rerelease at my record store as I have the MOV release and would like to see if there are any differences.

I've been eyeing this as well, think I will take a gamble and place the order.

On a side note, a few months ago we were at the Pickering flea market, rummaging through the antiques section and I happened across a copy of the EP on vinyl, asking $35. For some reason I passed it by thinking maybe next time we were up I'd pick it up, I mean after all, what kind of demand would there be for the EP on vinyl, what's the rush to grab it? That week the announcement if Gord's health was made public. I am sure that was snapped up that day. :nooooo

I assume it was the 2015 Music On Vinyl re-release, which you can order new anytime for about the same price.

The cost on the MOV versions seems to have gone up. I saw copies of RA at both HMV and London Drugs recently, and the going price was $44 at both stores.

For those that have this version, how is the sound quality on Road Apples? I've been meaning to pick it up.

This is the first week Yer Favourites is #1, so they now have ten #1's. Believe it was #3 upon it's release, and Hipeponymous #6. If both were considered the same, such as Hipeponymous being called the Yer Favourites Deluxe Edition, then it likely would have been #1 upon release.

I've read the stories but don't see a link for the top 200 chart.

Was just browsing the internet last night to see what the kids find most popular in music at the moment. Once in a blue moon, I bring up the top 100 on a site that shall remain anonymous (Let's just call it P. Bay - no wait that's too obvious - Pirate B.)

Frank Ocean was at #1, but I was surprised to see The Hip on that list of the top 100 most popular music downloads on the site currently.
