I saw that too, but it was about the Gordon Lightfoot tribute album, which The Hip perform "Black Day in July". Probably just adding it to the albums section of the website, or something.

The John K. Samson (Weakerthans) interview about Gord linked at the bottom of the Jim Cuddy piece was also excellent reading. Agree with the assessment that John K. Samson's lyrics are the only think that I can think of as being on the same astral plane as Gord's -- i.e. Not judging quality but just inhabting the same universe of imagination.

Cool, I didn't even see that one there. Another excellent interview. Word on the street is that Samson has a new solo album in the works with a rumored October release.

what a great read! Cuddy just gets music in a way that I wish all musicians did. He's walked the walk and he's able to speak very intelligently about what it means to be a Canadian musician.
I don't know why it never occurred to me before now that there may be a tribute album or concert. Makes perfect sense. I think I speak for most (if not all) here when I say I'd be all over that shit.
