I ended up going to the Monday show. Three songs in I turned to the wife and said we are definitely going Wednesday as well

Monday had it all, absolute magic inside that rink. "One of Those Nights"

But wednesday had Thugs and Dire Wolf.

Go to as many shows as you can boys, any way that you can. You never know what you might get . . . be it rarities or electricity.

Yeah, especially since kids, the wife gives me the "is the best use of our time/money" look... number of shows has been on a steady decline the last 8 years (I think I even graphed it at one point!), but this year, there's been no pushback. Do what you need to do.

I honestly thought night 2 was slightly stronger. band was tight as fuck. plus I was right up front. also I wore ear plugs the second night and was able to really dial in with the music.

I was at Calgary 1 with my fiancee, whose only previous live Hip experience was the Dundas Square show two years ago. I also had tickets to Toronto 2/3 and Kingston; I could've gotten Toronto 1 tickets too, but decided against it because we're saving money for our wedding and seeing 2/3 shows seemed okay by me. Long story short: not only am I now going to Toronto 1, but so is she. What are our kids gonna care more about: the money we spent on a centrepiece or the money we spent seeing the Hip? Exactly.
