Currently I've been going for the deep cuts, the two that have a hold on me at the moment..

Watched almost the entire Periscope of the show last night, and Machine blew my mind! That's at the top for me. Also, seeing Paul rocking the big black Tak has got Last American Exit in my head on repeat. Was chatting with my brother last week about where it all started for us and he mentioned seeing that video when it first came out, and then turning me on to it. Three cheers for older siblings with amazing taste in music.

The whole album has been on constant rotation since it was released. Songs rise and fall as to my favorite, right now it's In Sarnia. It's one of those songs that I'm in awe over where Gord finds the words and how he wraps them around a melody to make a song.

I'm in this camp too -- love the whole damn thing, but some songs rise to moments of favour. In Sarnia: I love that howl that starts the tune! Right now Here, In the Dark has a hold on me ... the tempo shifts, the ending section, pace of the lyrics ... I love those lines "Because, I had your love, I took it into my heart / But my life was in my mind and yours was in your arms" -- wow, what a thought/feeling to capture. The band's site footnotes this as coming from Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath, but that lyric is Gord's phrasing and the context in that song just hits me like a ton of bricks ... also think Great Soul and Hot Mic would be incredible live ...

Escape Is At Hand For The Travellin' Man is a tune that ALWAYS captures my attention ... what a story ...

As I Wind Down the Pines has been my solace music for a while now. Especially with Gord's illness, it has reminded me of the incredible diversity of sound that these guys produce.

Cordelia will always be a favourite for having an aggressive, rocking sound just littered with Shakespeare. Great "driving too fast" music.

Silver Jet is just... cool. I feel like it's like this weird window into the young Hip, in spite of being a later release.

In a World Possessed by the Human Mind is a mindfuck I don't understand, but desperately want to.
