Setlist Complaints
#1

I know this is obvious but I really hope this is the one tour that fans don't complain about what is or isn't played. If they come out and play Evelyn for 2 hours followed by an encore of Evelyn we should all be grateful they are even playing. Yes it is obvious but...nothing surprises me. Other than perhaps the band playing Eveyln for 2 hours.

This tour is probably the only one where I won't complain about the setlist. I'm going to six shows and am kind of expecting the same for all of them, probably easier for Gord. Will be pleasantly surprised if they pull something rare out.

That would take one more song off of my missing set list. Maybe if they can add Werewolf in the encore?

I'm hoping one of these shows makes it on to the live vault series (which I hope returns).

How about Evelyn for 2 hours with an encore of Coconut Cream and Are You Ready? Now THAT would be a show! I'm certainly guilty of complaining about setlists on recent tours. Would I love to see them dust off some deep cuts, especially considering this might be their last tour? Most definitely. But obviously due to the circumstances, I'll be perfectly happy with whatever they play and there will be zero complaints from me. Like most of us, I just want to be there.

Can't remember where I read it, but I believe Gord will have a teleprompter for this tour feeding him lyrics to help him out. They could easily play anything from the catalogue if that's the case.

Yes I would expect some level of redundancy based on Gord's condition. Maybe start out with similar sets and expand if he is doing well (or vice versa). Personally, I am planning not to read any reviews or sets before the show. With it most likely being my last Hip show, I want no knowledge or expectations of the show Going in to it.

The Rules is one of the few Hip songs I just can't bring myself to listen to. But if they decide to play a two-hour version of it, I'll still be happy to be at the show.

Perspective is a helpful thing. I think many of us got a huge dose of it last month. I'll be happy with whatever set I get in six weeks.

According to my memory, and setlist.fm, I have never seen that performed live. Interesting song to rag on, I have always heard The Rules as one of their most simple and complex lyrical compositions at the same time.

And the music feeds the intensity of the lyrics

And traffic's not about to stop for the first casualty of thought

Had to include that line. Blew me away from the second I first heard it til right...now.

He had a teleprompter at the Sadies show and the Kamloops FC gig

I thought I saw one when at the Toronto FC gig

He didn't need a teleprompter at any of the shows I was up front at.

Yes, while I thought I saw one, at no time did it look like he was using it.

Gord has used a teleprompter since 2012 actually. First caught on to this at Kensignton market shows
