Fun little survey from National Geographic , 20 questions , it gives you the results from each question answered and how other Countries fared on each question . Got one wrong , thought it was a trick question , If I had actually thought about it a little more... :nooooo cratch: :lol:

That looks like a "how dumb is the US" and "how smart Sweden is" test... They where last on almost every question...

How can Americans be LAST in knowing what their population is??? Freakin' Italy beat them!

OK this is not adding up...for question 10, ONLY BRITAIN scored below the US on picking the US off a world map. Americans may not know anything about the outside world (by and large), but they damn sure know where on the planet they are!

Canada really doesn't rank that high...I got 20 out of 20 right, so I'm pleased to be boosting our stats, but we're totally in the middle of the pack most of the time. Only a few times are we in the top 2.

But of course The Netherlands isn't even on that list, we always get overlooked, we're just so small... we can't help it

The survey was done on a bunch of 18-24 year olds a couple years ago. It's not taking into consideration where you are from, only providing the questions and results so that you can compare yourself to the test group of 18-24 year olds that actually were interviewed. Here's the excert about how they got the results:

"The National Geographic-Roper 2002 Global Geographic Literacy Survey assesses the geographic knowledge of 3,250 young adults in nine countries, including the U.S. The research also addresses young adults’ attitudes toward the importance of geography and how aware they are of geography in the context of current events. In total, 2,916 interviews with 18- to 24-year-olds were conducted using an in-home, in-person methodology. Interviews were conducted in the following countries: United States, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Great Britain, and Japan. A total of 300 interviews were conducted in each country except the U.S.; in the U.S. nearly 500 interviews were conducted with 18-to 24-year-olds and an additional sample of more than 300 25-to 34-year-olds.

All interviews were conducted using a representative sample of young adults. Interviews were conducted from mid-May to mid-July 2002."

took it yesterday. got 3 mistakes. i'm soo bad with populations. then stupid me, i interchanged the location of peru and argentina.
