St. Vincent
#1

Sorry if I'm late to this party... but holy hell, why haven't I listened to her 4 albums (plus that one with David Byrne) until this year is beyond me.
All of them are phenomenal, and I am blown away by this band/artist/whatever St. Vincent is.

I started with the most recent, and worked my way back.

Watch her Live on Letterman performance! She absolutely shreds on it.

Anybody else a St. Vincent convert?

Annie Clark is her real name, and I'm pretty sure St. Vincent is the name of the band? Or perhaps it's just a stage name. Whatever the case, I think she's a really talented and interesting songwriter with a unique guitar style. I was in L.A. last year on vacation and I spotted her shopping at Amoeba Records on Sunset Blvd. However I was too chicken to go up and say hello. I figured she'd want to be left alone.

Yes, St. Vincent is her stage name -- I think she's used a rotating band since the first album.

I think she's pretty incredible, both musically and in terms of marketing and presentation. I have not heard the new album yet, I have the vinyl on order, but liked the first singles. Many amazing songs, but Severed Crossed Fingers and Year of the Tiger top my list of favorite tracks.

I was a bit lukewarm on the last record, Masseduction has definitely got some hooks in me. The title track is sexy as hell.
