Go see the Fully Completely tour
#1

Ignore anything you've heard or read and just go see the Fully Completely tour. I went to the Montreal date on the weekend and it was great. Any negative reviews I've read were wildly exaggerated. And the Bell Centre was pretty much full so the Hip are are strong as ever, despite what you read here.

What negative reviews? Everything I've read about the tour has been positive.

Agreed. I've heard nothing but good things. Band sounds tight, Gord is singing, and they've dusted off a few rarities here and there. I think it bodes well for the next album and tour.

I caved and bought Kingston tickets. First Kingston show for me since Across the Causeway, first time at the new rink, first "Pigeon Camera"...plus Gord's singing.

caught NYC and St Kitts shows

Although Gord's signing is better.. he is nowhere near what he was in his younger days ( Hey I know first hand what getting old brings with it )

Some songs he hits the nail on the head and sounds great , some songs he still edges into screaming , some songs he kind of "recites" rather than sings

Just my own two cents , but his wheelhouse is more suited for small venues with an acoustic guitar

I won't give up on him with this band , but I'm not kidding myself what he can bring to the table anymore

I will say this. Gord's vocal performance on Long Time Running in St Catherines, was the strongest and most powerful I've ever heard him on that song live Confusedhock:

"They're your blues, we just play 'em"
