#1

This absolutely made my day. The physical album releases on Oct. 13th, but you can download it free from iTunes today. Check it out:

I haven't listened to it yet, but I'll be downloading this sucker as soon as I get home from work.

It's quite good. A little reminiscent of Achtung Baby in a few places but with the kind of production you'd expect from Danger Mouse. I'm liking it.

I'm digging it as well. After absorbing it for the better part of two days now, I think it might be one of the best things they've ever done. I'm especially impressed with Bono's voice on this record. The guy hasn't lost a step at all, and his singing is really powerful here. As always, the Edge's guitar work is gorgeous, subtle, and compelling at the same time. He's the heart of the band. I also really like what Danger Mouse brought to the table production-wise. This is definitely one of the better sounding U2 records in quite some time, at least to my ears. Does it rank up there with a masterpiece like Achtung Baby? Only time will tell. But as of right now I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Standout tracks for me so far:

Every Breaking Wave
California
Song for Someone
Iris
Raised By Wolves (this one sounds very reminiscent of the War/Unforgettable Fire era)
Volcano
Cedarwood Road
