Campfire Liars Club
#1

So who else has gone and seen this, other than myself and Thompson Girl. ?
Such a great show, Paul came out afterwards and just hung out with us and chatted, he is so down to earth its not funny. I got a bunch of pictures and autographs from the entire band, the music was very good. But I am surprised that there is not more of us Hip fans at his shows. Whats going on?

Pretty cool. Maybe if we had known about it...

(If I wasn't busy that night I would have made the drive. Next time for sure.)

I was once told it's pretty much a bunch of guys getting together to drink and play songs. and its must be fun to play for an audience having fun too.

Someone should reprint some Paul Kicks Ass shirts.

Yep, tons of talking, oh yes, and drinking..... And there were two sets - about 24 songs in total, and I think it must've gone from 9 to 1:30 am if you add on the "open mic" part at the end!

Paul did a new song, the title I picked up as "Crazy"?! Not sure if that's right cause the song was about his two girls and how he missed so much of their life. Although, yes, maybe he thinks he was crazy to miss all that.

Group covers of The Band, R.E.M., Travelling Wilburys.

Like with the Hip, you now really have to be paying attention on FB and twitter to find out about these things. "Like" Ching Music or Campfire Liars Club, or even Paul or Greg Ball on FB and that's where you'll probably catch these things.

Something to keep in mind, Greg Ball made it into NXNE this year. I don't see Paul on the list, but I'm sure he'll come down as well, so keep your eyes peeled for that one.

Paul is awesome. Super, super nice guy.

I liked the open mic part at the end, one guy got up with a girl and they did a song, then the guy stayed and played some more then Paul joined him on stage and played the slide guitar on his lap, im sure if anybody wanted to go up and jam it would have happened as when Campfire Liars was done they said, ""Open Mic" and left all their insturments on stage, I guess all in attendance were nervous as nobody other than the 2 I mentioned above got up. The CLC played the Band song The Weight with everybody taking turns singing. It was pretty damn good.
Drank quite a few drinks that night, actually starting in the late afternoon at the hotel then all night long, got to bed around 4am, damn Id do it all over again, it was so unique. Plus the 2 ladies I spent the day with were exceptional in their beauty and clever wit and love of music.

A couple of dates coming up:
Quote:A number of you have asked when or if the CLC will playing any gigs this summer.
On June 25th, we will be making an appearance at the Kingston Arts Council, and on August 28th we will be playing our annual Panchanco Summer Summer Music BBQ.
Also, if you were one of the two groups that bought us at the Limestone Learning Foundation Gala, we will be playing just for you.
That being said......Right now we are In the process of "schedule synchronizing".
While it may seem like the CLC is a smooth running well oiled machine, like any finely tuned engine, it has have a lot of moving parts. But rest assured sometime, most likely, we will play somewhere... probably. And when we figure it all out, you'll be the first to know...

And Greg Ball got his NXNE date finalized:
Quote:We got our NXNE date!!! June 20th, 8pm, at the Paddock down on 178 Bathurst!
