Dream Venues!
#1

Are there any venues The Hip haven't played that you always thought would make for a memorable and unique experience? Or are there any venues that they haven't hit in a while that you'd love to see them at again?

Hometown bias, but the Imperial Theater in Saint John is a gorgeous venue. Although by Hip standards it is small, its architecture is gorgeous and its presence in this city is mighty. Have always thought it would a be a great fit, especially now that they've changed their liquor policy has been changed and tailored for the 21st century!

Love to see the Hip, or any band for that matter, at United Palace Theater in NY City. Went to see Interpol there a couple of years ago and the venue was gorgeous. The architecture, acoustics, design, aesthetics, and overall grandeur of the theater were stunning.

I'd love to see them at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. Incredible venue. The seating capacity is around 9,000, so unfortunately there's no way the Hip would even come close to selling it out. They'd have to open for somebody to get on that stage.

holy shit, that place looks cool!

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

I'm definitely not a fan that has had everything, but seeing them in a small bar in Calgary with my elbows on the stage (the whiskey), and at the Banff Center small theater, really were special treats. I can't really say anything that's remotely realistic.

But I can only answer with seeing them perhaps at an acoustic gig at a cottage or in my backyard would be it.

Check out these ridiculously beautiful outdoor concert venues in Perth, Australia:

This one's called The Quarry:

And then there's the Belvoir Amphitheatre:

Actually the Hip played Red Rocks in 1993. And believe it or not, Dave Matthews Band was their opener. Now what i'd like to see is DMB return the favour. Have the Hip open up for them at Red Rocks. That's my dream concert. Big Grin

Massey Hall was awesome in 2009. I think Radio City Music Hall would be possible with the right promotion & planning...
