Hey gang,
On the way to work this morning, was listening to iceberg ch. 151, wheat kings came and went and afterwards the dj came on and said they had hip radio a few weeks back and that it would be making a return soon, announcement coming in the near future. I guess it did some good business for siriusxm last time around
If you have the online player and can rewind the station, it was right after wheat kings at about 7:15am ET

That's great news, we have XM in the truck and those four days of Hip radio were fantastical. We were making excuses to go on country drives.

Nice. I've had Sirius for about 4.5 years, can't listen to "regular" radio now. Between E-Street Radio, Pearl Jam Radio, Classic Vinyl and The Spectrum there's always something on.

Earlier today SiruisXM replayed the "live to air" Kensington market show.
1. Damn Downie sounds horrible - rough, rough and rougher - that's too bad.
2. I am thoroughly impressed at the tightness and the expansion of the new tunes already.
I just listened to the "1st" show and then I put on their most recent show and wow! What a total difference - the songs sound amazing compared to the Market show. They found their groove during the first couple of weeks of this tour.
3. It was cool to hear Downie say he was walking home after the show because it was so close (true?)
4. Cool to hear Downie give the location of the apartment he sang about in Bobcaygeon.
5. And the location of the Checker-board floors. (but I think I know that somewhere in my head)

I wish they Hip had their own channel, like Pearl Jam. I'm loving Hip Radio this weekend.

I believe it is in reference to the
Horseshoe Tavern, with its checkerboard floors.

The Horseshoe...doesn't get any more Toronto than that.
