Hello fellow Hipbasers, I am fairly new to the forums, and started on my Hip vinyl collection a year ago or so, when I found the self titled for 20 bucks at a record swap in hamilton.

I've recently managed to get an Up To Here on ebay for $25 plus 10 shipping [US pressing] WATS and NFPA I purchased through maple music, and I'm beginning to realize that the other five are going to cost me bloody fortune considering the amounts that I'm seeing on ebay as of right now.

Now to the point of this post:
I cant seem to find any information on this board pertaining to WHY there is only a Germany pressing of RA, and only a Netherlands pressing of FC.

Where there ever Canadian pressings of these? If not, why on earth would they do the pressings in Europe only, and not Canada or US. Just seems strange and I'd appreciate some background info on this.

Regarding Road Apples. There are actually more domestic (US/CAN) pressings of RA (approx 5, incl the record club pressings), than German (2 pressings). The domestic pressings are more rare. There are a couple of reasons why you see so many German pressings. Vinyl was still popular in Germany in 1991, plus the German pressing was the sole pressing for all of Europe and was exported to the UK, France, etc. Hope this helps.

GREAT, another vinyl collector into the fray, just what we all need, more people driving the prices up. No offence but I only have 3 albums left to get and the keep getting more expensive, I have been buying a lot of 12 inch singles latly. In all I probably have 10 different Hip things on Vinyl.

Unfortunately, there just isn't much information out there regarding Hip vinyl. In hindsight, I would have taken pics and documented every Hip LP that I acquired over many years of collecting and created a data base. I may still try to put something together, based on memory and what I still have in my collection.
