I have seen the Hip around 40 time but this tour I want to see them somewhere other then the Ontario/WNY area.
What show on the US tour would be your choice?
Thoughts on any of the shows that stand out as something the would be worth traveling for.

First shows in North Dakota and Montana... if I was financially stable those would be my odd and fun choices!

If I were looking of an "authentic" small venue American show I would go for Billings, Montana. Why the hell anyone would want to go to Billings in December is beyond me but it would be fun to see the Hip with Cowboys. A more practicable location is Portland. The Wonder Ball room has an intimacy that creates a small room energy that fue Hip fans get to experiance.

Was secretly hoping for a gig at The National in Richmond, VA so I could do a two-night thing. The National has gotten HUGE in the last couple of years and has been picking up bigger and bigger bands - I did the two-night thing with The Mountain Goats on their last tour. Oh well. Gonna be in DC regardless.

Saw the boys there in '04. The smoke in the floor area was simply unbearable. Went to use to bathroom 3/4 of the way through the set and they wouldn't let me back in GA...never again

Same, I was at Madalay Bay (actually THE Hotel which is attached to MB) in January on business and had a few drinks at the HoB. Looks like a great venue to see the boys.
Southwest United out of Buffalo have good deals.
