Wow, I didn't see this coming. I consider them to be one of the best and most original bands of all time. I feel extremely fortunate that I was able to see them perform live twice.

Definitely disappointing news. Would have liked to have seen them live at least once.

Great band. I'll never forget the secret show they played at the Cantos Music Museum in Calgary during the Great White Northern Lights tour. A buddy of mine is a local promoter here in town. I remember he called me that morning and said "be at the Cantos Museum around noon today. You'll thank me later". I was the first person to show up. They were performing in this little tiny music room upstairs from the main museum. By the time Jack and Meg walked in and started playing, there were only about 20-30 people that had shown up. It was by far the most intimate performance by a large-scale band I've ever witnessed. Luckily I just happened to be off work that day. I'm so glad I was there to see it.

Not a setlist - but a nice talk-about-it thread: <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://hipbase.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11938&p=159903&hilit=Cantos#p159903">viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11938&p=159903&hilit=Cantos#p159903</a><!-- l -->

There was a repeat last night of Later with Jools Holland with the White Stripes as one of the performers. They were great. I was impressed with his singing. I have never seen them live.
