2010 Ottawa Blues Festival
#1

Pretty good line-up, although I'm not sure why they still call it a "Blues" festival?? Yes, I know all rock music stems from the blues......but come on.....Iron Maiden, B-52's, Great Big Sea, Crowded House, Weezer, etc???

Not going this year, too bad, I had a great time last year, but I'm not feelin' the lineup this year really....there's some good ones, but aside from Gord, Metric, and Weezer, I've seen all of the bands that I like on that bill.

I'm going to Heavy MTL instead I think. Megadeth, Slayer, Alice Cooper, Testament, Fear Factory, Mastodon, Kataklysm, Avenged Sevenfold, Alexisonfire, Chimaira, Five Finger Death Punch, Hatebreed, Rob Zombie, Korn...and a whole bunch of other bands.

Hoe does Alexisonfire fit with those other bands? Am I missing something? :what

I was going to agree with you on the why do they call it a blues festival, but there actually seems to be more blues than in the past few years.

John Hiatt
Robert Randolph
and many more

Plus the:
Cat Empire
The Hold Steady.

Some great bands in the line up.

They're heavy, and they're popular? I don't think it's that big of a deal, that lineup goes together better than the bluesfest does...

I know they're popular. They are just unlike the other bands listed.

I'd say Cooper is more "unlike" any of those bands, in terms of how the music sounds.

Rob Halford of Judas Priest has been added to the Heavy MTL line-up.

If anyone is going, be sure to check out Matt Anderson - This guy is amazing. He is from New Brunswick and plays awsome acoustic blues. His voice is something to behold as well....wish I was near Ottawa. I may actually make a vacation out of the blues fest next year.

Matt Andersen is phenomenal. I've been fortunate enough to see him play everywhere from a family barbecue to with Symphony Nova Scotia.
One of the most powerful voices I have ever heard.
