Hip Reference in MMORPG

I tend to waste time now and then playing games on the comp, and while playing Everquest 2 I noticed an obvious Hip reference, I'm guessing one of the developers of the game is big fan.

You see the words 'nautical disaster' as you assume they are hip fans? Don't you think that is a bit of a strech?

I'm guessing it's Nautical Disaster PLUS At The Hundredth Meridian that sealed the deal.

Yes, what fingernailsonhull said, the Quest is called Nautical Disaster, and you have to find a tome, when you do , you can see it hi-lited, it's called At The Hundredth Meridian.
