BARENAKED LADIES ARE BACK with special guest Joel Plaskett

January 21, 2010, Toronto, Ontario – Barenaked Ladies, Ed Robertson (guitar/vocals), Jim Creeggan (bass/vocals), Kevin Hearn (keyboard/guitar/vocals) and Tyler Stewart (drums/vocals) , announce today their Canadian headline tour with special guest Joel Plaskett.

“We’re looking forward to another cross Canada tour” said Ed Robertson. “It’s a new chapter for the band, but we’ll be bringing the whole songbook with us! We’ll be playing our favourites from the last 20 years, as well as songs from our new record. The only known cure for spring fever is a Barenaked Ladies show. We look forward to seeing you there!”

April 30th Montreal, QC Metropolis
May 1st Oshawa, ON General Motors Centre

This may be a dumb question, but is Joel actually playing with BNL? Or would he be an opener? Might have to check out one of the shows regardless....

Opener, to the best of my knowledge. The more I think about it the more I think this is a great match.

It seems like he's an opener. It would not surprise me in the least if he played with them for a song or two. Missing that second voice onstage for BNL might just make it happen.

I thought that too, but apparently it will be him and his good buddy Peter Elkas (Formerly of "Local Rabbits").

I saw that, do you know if that's a wristband only event or if you can get tickets seperately? Couldn't find much about it on the CMW website.
