We Are The Same Tour Final Stats Part 1 - General Stats
#1

ALL STATS ARE BASED ON MY CALCULATIONS OVER THE TOUR - I'M SURE THERE ARE MINOR ERRORS HERE AND THERE BUT OVERALL THESE ARE THE NUMBERS.
All Stats can be found at <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.rheostaticslive.com/Files/HIPSTATS-04DEC2009-FINALwithBreakdowns.xls">http://www.rheostaticslive.com/Files/HI ... kdowns.xls</a><!-- m -->

Shows played = 87 (if any shows were missing sets I didn’t include them in the stats)
Unique Songs Played = 84
Total Songs Played = 2108
The most common song played was The Depression Suite at 85/87 shows
The most common set opener was The Depression Suite at 35/87 shows
The most common set closer was Love Is A First with 45/87 shows
The most common encore was Blow At High Dough with 30/87 shows (followed closely by Frozen In My Tracks with 28/87 shows
The most common acoustic song was Wheat Kings with 33/87 shows and Coffee Girl with 32/87 shows

Songs played under 10 times (10% of shows or less):
50MC 9

Thus 31/84 (37%) of the songs played were played less than 10% of the time individually.

They comprise 113 of the 2108 songs played on the tour – or 5.3% of the total number of songs played

So 31 songs (37%) comprise 5.3% of the songs played on this tour.
As a comparison – The Depression Suite alone has comprised 4% (85/2108) of the total songs played, being at 85 of 87 shows..

In the 50%ish or greater category (actually 51%) – i.e. songs played 44 times or more on this tour – i.e. approx every other show or more:
The Depression Suite 85

That makes up 21 songs of 84 – or 25% of the total, for a total of 1317 songs of the 2108 played – or 62% of the songs played on the tour.

The remaining 32 songs are:

These 32 songs reflect songs played between 10% and 49% of the shows each.
They make up 678 of the 2108 songs played on the tour or 32% of the material played.

SO
31/84 songs (37%) made up 5.3% of the total songs played on the low end (i.e. played at less than 10 of the 87 shows each).

32/84 songs (38%) made up 32% of the total songs played (i.e. played between 10 and 43 times each)

21 songs (25%) made up 62% of the songs played on the high end (i.e. played at 44 or more shows each)

or in simple terms slightly more than 1/3 of the songs played made up 5% of the total material played on the low end (less than 10% of shows each). 1/4 of the songs played made up 62% of the material played on the high end (50% of shows each or more) and slightly more than 1/3 of the songs played made up 32% of the material played (10%-49% of shows each).

Being one of the greatest tracks on WATS IMO, I can't believe Country Day was only played 7 times...

Even more upsetting is the fact that "In View" was played a whopping 73 times. That's just not cool at all. Hopefully that song either gets a rest, or is officially retired on the next tour.

For me In View may certainly stay... it's a new classic, no? And for me certainly a good song.
But why a song like Country Day is played only 7 times... a bit upsetting yeah.
It's one of my favorites, and I even made a poster "Please Play Country Day" for the gig in Brussels.
Gord D. saw it, pulled a very bizarre sight, abit like Confusedcratch:
It seemed to me he was thinking something like... "mmm, not a bad song, but I don't like it playing live, and we have much better material to play,... wait and see"... and no, they didn't play it.

PS. THANKS FOR THESE GREAT STATISTICS! :thumb:

Good job with the poster President!
I've see many other bands play songs that fans consistently request at concerts. If enough people bring Country Day posters to concerts we might be able to have it dusted off and returned to setlists.

Personally, I prefer the method of bringing a banana and waving it in front of Gord.

nice - a friend of mine has the Banana from the Phantom Power tour - he gave it to her in Portland Maine I think, when it cracked - That was a great run of shows - Northampton Mass, Martha's Vinyard Hot Tin Roof, Hampton Beach Casino, State Theatre in Portland Maine and Sugarbush Vermont.

Hey Sherpa, this is totally awesome. Thanks for doing it! Would it be cool with you if I used your hard work to try to generate some pretty pictures? I'm not quite sure what I want to do yet, but I feel setlist data visualizations would be either really sweet or totally incomprehensible. I'm curious to find out what'll happen!
