In Between Evolution
#1

wow! after playing 'yer favorites' to a nub recently I threw on' evolution 'disk and was blown away. The first 5 tracks of that disk can open any show anywhere any time.--Heaven,Summer,Vaccination,Gus,Nashville throw in Makeshift,One night in copenhagen ,and goodnight josephine, and you have a show I would pay for. Very underrated disk

I've been very pleased with the random IBE drop ins on this tour here and there. Same can be said for periodic sprinklings from IVL and M@W besides the obvious choices. I'm a big fan of those last two discs and most of IBE, so hearing lesser played tunes from them is always a treat.

That said, I still haven't caught a show with Throwing Off Glass yet...I'm hoping for it in Cuse or Salemenca.

Gus seems to be the choice--vaccination has disappeared, makeshift and copenhagen too rare --shame really

I would love it if Vaccination Scar made its way back into the shows. I agree, its an ass kicker!

Vaccination was actually in pretty heavy rotation on local alternate radio when the disk came out several years ago so I thought they would play it locally in Albany last week--but no....

I think the last time they played it was New Year's Eve 2004, and maybe one more time at a festival in Newfoundland in 2005? Point is, its been too long.

I'm flying today and IBE has been front and centre on my MP3 player. IMO, Mean Streak is the best song on the album. At the same time, Gus and Joe are personal favourites. Sitting in the Atlanta airport right now. Think I might throw on PP for the next flight.

I thought we'd see Scar come back this tour, especially since a few songs on WATS use a slide guitar...

If by slide guitar you mean lap steel, then yes...I got super excited when Robbie pulled it out it Ottawa, and unfortunately it turned out to be for Honey, Please. Not a bad tune, but I thought they might break out Scar, or even better, You're Everywhere. They do need to play more from IBE.

Quite odd, the disappearance of Vaccination Scar, considering it was a "single."

IBE is a fine album. Nashville is probably it's weakest song, though, IMO.

Out of all the tunes from IBE...I think GUS is my least fave...don't know why the band is so into playing that tune all the time.... Bring on some of those other IBE gems...(not complaining...just an opinion)...Still glad to hear G J, Makeshift, Nashville, If New O is beat, Are we family...etc. :thumb:

I could not agree with you more. I actually dislike Gus. Never liked it from day one and go  when they play it live ahead of such brilliant tunes as You're Everywhere or Josephine.

IBE is one of my all time favourite albums though and my first new album and first live show as a Hip fan so I kinda have a soft spot for it.

All I'm hearin' is youuuuuuuu

I like it and it should belong on an album, agreed.
