you don't need a reason to hate the yankees. they're booooring because they're always the best. i can only like a team io can respect, and i can only respect a team that brings up its own talent from kids within, not brings in established stars from outside. YANKS SUCK. I will laugh so hard when Florida takes this bitch in six games.

Wow, whoever said this musta been some kinda genius. Everybody in the media was calling for the Yanks to take last night's game, and possibly the series. But one person rose above it...oh wait, wasn't that ME?!

am I the only long time yankee fan? devastating loss, but when you have Garcia, Wilson, and Johnson playing so much it's just a matter of time before you lose.... Soriano sucked it up too!

personally, i think Yankees fans' expectations are out of whack..Win the Series or else you suck. I love the Yankees tradition and history but seriously, anyone who thinks they can buy themselves a World Series every year is nuts, in my opinion. It reeks of arrogance and smugness, and it ultimately devalues the competitiveness of baseball.

The worst of it how the Yankees mgmt are always complaining about how they haven't won a world series since 2000...so what?! Play well, enjoy the game, look for problems areas and work on them like every other team. Don't just bring in new people constantly with big bucks. You can't build a functional team that way! They seriously need to realise the value of raising talent in-house.

Also, Steinbrenner has to back off. Nobody can perform well under the stress he puts them under. Once again members of the Yankees are quitting because of him, and he seems to think that kind of pressure helps. Zimmer even said he didn't feel treated like a human being!

Personally, I think the Yanks losing this series was the WORST thing that could have happened for baseball in general, and more specifically for Jays fans like myself...

Had they won, there wouldn't be near the pressure on Steinbrenner to blow up the roster and start again. As it stands now, Clemens, Pettitte and Wells won't be back, and there are rumblings George may be looking to unload Bernie Williams (to make room for Soriano in centre), Giambi and other post-season underachievers.

I would expect the likes of Bartolo Colon, Greg Maddux, Vladi Guerrero, Gary Sheffield, Ugeth Urbina and others (Kelvim Escobar?) to get huge offers from George in an attempt to bring them to the Big Apple to fill these voids...

This is a team that doesn't have the word "rebuild" in it's vocabulary...only "reload"...

If $185M wasn't enough to win this year, it wouldn't shock me to see a $200M payroll in the Bronx next year...
