Ron Hawkins- 10 Kinds of Lonely
#1

What a brilliant album! I thought "Chemical Sounds" was the best thing he'd ever done, but I think he may have topped himself once again with this one. If you're a fan I highly recommend checking it out. Hell, even if you've never heard of him, this music deserves to be heard. Do yourself a favour and give him a listen. As of yesterday the album is now available for sale from Ron's website. You can get either a physical copy, an mp3/FLAC download, or you can do what I did and buy both. Check it out here:

You can also go here and watch a cool little video of Ron talking about the making of the album. Enjoy!

I couldn't agree more. It's an incredible album by a brilliant songwriter.
He just did some small intimate shows in Kensington Market this past weekend, and I've never
seen a room so attentive and respectful. Easily the best record of the year.

I knew this came out in August and completely forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me. Definitely picking this up and hoping for a Buffalo show in the near future! I am sure he will get one or two in there as usual.

I think it was either Town Ballroom or the Tralf that had two recent shows with Ron (back in may and June, if memory serves) that also had Stephen Stanley as a special guest. Missed both of those shows due to other comittments, but Ron always puts on a great show and he will probably be back to the Buffalo area.

Edit: Just checked his website and he's going to be playing Welland on Friday @ Club Richelieu, St. Catharines on 9/18 and Zaphod's in Ottawa on 10/23.

It's a shame he never tours outside of Ontario or Buffalo. He's got a lot of fans out west. When he came through Calgary a few years back with the Low during their reunion tour, the show was absolutely packed. I'm sure his solo gigs would be well attended if he ever decided to venture out this way again. You people out east are so ridiculously spoiled.

This album is awesome! Got my auto'd copy in the mail pretty quickly. The mp3 download to hold me over was a nice marketing idea! $$ very well spent. I highly recommend checking this one out.
