Singles Predictions
#1

I think there will be 4 singles over the course of the next 4 years -- with 1 video.

Love is a First
Speed River
Coffee Girl
Queen of the Furrows

I don't really know what Morning moon is, but if it is a single, then maybe not Queen.

I think the Video will be Coffee Girl.

Thoughts?

Over the next 4 years? You think that they'll be working this album until 2013 - and that the public will still have an appetite for it?

Speed River to rock radio, Coffee Girl to pop radio. That should do it.

I can see new rock stations like the edge playing Speed River, Love is a First, & Queen of the furrows

Very hard to say. Could be any number of them. Speed River wouldn't have been one of my first picks originally, but now it makes sense.

To me, Speed River sounds like We Are The Same's "In view".. very new rock radio friendly.

Not that thats a bad thing.. love both songs

I like the four year idea. If you put the last three albums together, you certainly could come up with something that is genuinely a cover-to-cover album. I know that wasn't your point, but, I have been thinking recently about the Hip's general pattern with releasing albums every two years. I think they could have put themselves in a better position for recording material. Just an opinion.

Looks like you are right... I just completely stumbled upon this. I am a big Red Wings fan, and because game one of their series against Columbus is on TSN2 which isn't available on Rogers, I am planning on going to watch the game at the Detroit Eatery on the Danforth. So I went to the restaurant's "myspace" and there is a picture of Gord with an employee or owner, and a little blurb saying:

"The Tragically Hip shoot their video for "Coffee Girl" at The Detroit Eatery!"

It looks like there are a couple of pics of the shoot too... the site is a little hard on the eyes though!

Nice find.
The only member in the photos is Downie. I wonder if he is doing a "solo" video again like In View.

I was in Ottawa over the weekend, and the local alt-rock station was playing "Frozen in My Tracks".
