I was wondering if there is any chance that they will be recording at Massey Hall for the 5 shows in May. I was thinking that it would be great to see a DVD from these great shows @ the "Historic" Massey Hall.
Any thoughts....

Is fan video recording allowed at Massey Hall? I can't recall any dvd boots from there.

If the Hip did record a DVD during any of the coming shows of the We Are The Same tour, I would love to see a DVD that would be quite different than a Toronto filming / Massey Hall filming.
Although it would still be cool, I think a logical next step would be to film a show state side, or heck across the pond.
The first venues that come to mind are the Paradiso in Amsterdam or the Fillmore in San Francisco.

Open taping either audio or video at Massey Hall is very difficult no matter the bands stance. It is another union based venue so there is a lot of prep work needed by the bands management. I know for the last Rheos show plans were made months ahead of time for only a couple people to tape. Hopefully the hips management have this in order by the time the shows are here.
Looking at the venues they are playing for this tour there's a good chance of tapers having a hard time getting gear in to some shows due to unions and HOB policy's.

There's also a historical building clause at Massey that makes it a nightmare to try and film/release stuff.
It's crazy expensive to film something there for release, thus why you hardly ever see it and in many cases, they simply won't allow it...which is too bad. Especially considering that now you see tons of shit on youtube the day after concerts that looks and sounds like ass.
