SRB in Detroit
#1

The Sam Roberts Band played to a sold out St. Andrew's Hall last night (2-28-09) in downtown Detroit, MI. The band played a great 90 minute set. One interesting note about the show was Kid Rock watched Sam's set from backstage. When Sam left after the encore, he walked over to Kid Rock and thanked him for coming.

I know Kid Rock enjoyed an excellent performance from the SRB. I wonder if he came to the show because he is considering hiring the SRB to be the opening act for his next tour?

Nice. And opening for Kid Rock would definitely provide some exposure to the US market for SRB.

But I was looking forward to a classic "Hugh's Review"!!

A DJ on 93.9 The River (CIDR in Windsor/Detroit) confirmed that Kid Rock was at the SRB show in Detroit. Apparently Kid Rock loves the song "Detroit '67" and he wanted to see the band that created it.

Caught some of Nickelback on The Hour last night...I guess they were playing Joe Louis the same night Sam and Kid were in town. Chad was going on about some after-party at Chris Chelios's's's bar. It was mildly entertaining to think of Sam, Kid Rock and Chad Kroeger knocking back pints with Chris Chelios in the background.
