I guess for Labour Day today
Its the first day I aint seen a great plume of steam from across the lake

I'm a native of Oswego, New York which lies on the south eastern shores of Lake Ontario. My house is probably less than 3 miles from the Nine Mile Point Nuclear power plants (insert radiation deformity joke here) just east of Oswego. Those lyrics have got to be referencing the cooling tower at this site, right? Having been written and recorded at the BathHouse, they'd be looking south across the lake all the time.

Anyways, given all of the references in their work, its exciting that one of them might hit very close to my home.

Its these little connections that are why I'm so much more excited for WATS than I was for WC. The Bathouse influence will hopefully really push through in the rest of the album too (although I'm sure Hawaii was an amazing place to record as well, lucky buggers).

At the Nokia show, Gord mentioned before going into morning moon,that, how he could see the great plume of steam from across the lake from the reactor in Oswego.I go to the races at Oswego wich is a few miles from the reactor and see this all the time.I guess where ever he see's it from is alot closer across the lake than i thought.Anyway i thought that might be what he was talking about in the lyrics,and was happy to hear him clarify that at the show.The Oswego speedway would be a cool place for them to play!One can wish,can't they?Nice pic Chris,have you got any of the awsome sunsets at oswego?They are second to none!

WHOAHHHHHHH that was weird.........after reading the first post I was concerned about deformities and couldn't quite work out what that was in the water. I thought it was a dog, but it looks more like a seagull now I look at it........ is it?!!! cratch:

sorry it's just that when awesome things connect to my life in someway I always get this feeling of excitement and awe hahaha

does that happen to anyone else? it may be just me I tend to be weird like that. :lol:
