Anyone else think it was a pretty shoddy performance? I know everyone is supposed to love Bruce and sing his praises, but my personal opinion is that the performance was bland and mediocore.

I dunno. I have never seen Bruce in concert so I have nothing of his to compare it to.
But at the commercial of commercials, it worked. Although I think his admission that selling at WalMart only was a mistake has made bigger headlines...

It sounded fine to me except I think he was a little over-geeked and got short of breath quickly...which affected his vocals a bit. But he's like 60, right? He looked like he was having fun, and so did the crowd.
I'm just appreciative that an American icon performed at the Super Bowl, and played real instrumentsin real time.

Yeah, I'd take the boss, over Prince, or Gloria Estefan, or Michael Jackson anytime, but I think Petty was better last year.

Oh, I agree. Bruce was a gazillion times better than Prince, that's for sure. At least Bruce didn't lip synch like Faith Hill and Jennifer Hudson.
cratch: Bruce is a real artist, love him or hate him. I can't say the same about the other two performers.

The guy is correct in his review of the performance. Bottom line, Springsteen's performance was about as corny as possible. It was pure Cheeze-Wiz.

So, the Chicago Tribune newspaper reported Springsteen's E Street Band was using a track, although the Boss himself was singing live. So, that makes the performance even more of a joke. :? Shame on the band. :rambo: Anyone who uses pre-recorded tracks is a fraud, point blank. :rambo:
