Hello all,

I'm taking my fiance to Toronto for Valentine's Day weekend to see Jim Cuddy and The Skydiggers. I'm looking for a classy restaurant to take her too in the downtown Toronto area. The show is at Massey Hall, anywhere close by would be preferable. Thanks to anyone who is able to help out!

Unfortunately my favourite restaurant from my visit to Toronto is neither that close nor particularly romantic. It is a great place for a meal though.

I'm sure it's a bit cliched, but whenever I'm in the big smoke I head to Richtree.

It's a cool idea; you get a table and a debit card and yer free to browse the many stations where fresh food is made right in front of you. The chefs then charge yer card. It's a cool experience to be able to eat at yer own leisure without any waiters looking over yer shoulder.

How much do you want to spend? Do you want something known - a name restaurant like Canoe, Susur, etc? Or just something nice?

I'm looking for cozy, private tables and such. Money wise I think something nice would go for $100-150 US for two people, but I have no idea what prices are in Toronto. Thanks for the input, Chris and others

Canoe is excellent, but it's reflected in the price. Not truly romantic, but awesome nonetheless. It's at the top (54 floors up) of the TD tower. I'd take a cab to the show from here.

These are all within walking distance - but none are super romantic or cozy, in my opinion:
Rosewater Supper Club is nice, but the food is sometimes hit and miss - although I haven't been in quite some time.

My wife suggested Colborne Lane.

Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar is a hot spot with great food.

Canoe would nice, but it says it is closed Saturday/Sunday; presumably coz TD Bank is closed? Since the fiance is coming in on a plane from Milwaukee that Friday, the game plan so far is CN Tower, Casa Loma, Bata Shoe Museum(is shoe fetish a worldwide feminine thing? ), dinner and concert on Saturday and wandering about/shopping on Sunday. Should be a veddy interesting weekend.... :jump :jump

I forgot about it being closed on weekends. It's primarily a business crowd, and the owners of the resto have other properties to cater to the weekend crowd.

Dinner at CN Tower is an option. It's a very good restaurant, with an unbeatable view, and a solid wine list. And if you go there, ask for a tour of the kitchen - they use induction grills.

Yeah I agree Chris, the 360 is always a good choice to impress a lady. It's a little pricey but if I recall correctly you don't have to pay to get up the tower if you have dinner reservations (I guess it's built into the price of the food).

my cousin is the chef for rosewater supper club. Well the executive chef for the liberty group . I would try Rosewater seems nice from the website.
