I didn't know much about these guys other than the fact that they opened for Pearl Jam on their '06 tour. I've always heard good things about them so I decided to buy their new album last night on a whim. It's pretty damn good. I can definitely hear a big U2 influence, mostly due to Caleb Fallowill's soaring vocals and some of the guitar sounds they use. But at the same time they also have a unique sound all their own. I like it.

Aha Shake Heartbreak, their '05 release is a bit of brilliance. But Only By The Night is a certifiable hunk of garbage. There's nothing original on the album, furthermore it's straight up boring. It borders on adult contempo; if anyone's listened to their lyrics, you'll know on this new record he sings in an Art Alexis, "Here's exactly what I'm thinking, void of a single metaphor" style. Boring, boring, boring. If anyone cares (Which you most certainly don't) I wrote a more detailed review on my blog.
That album is a serious bummer.

Their earlier ones are definitely stronger but the new one's not too shabby either.

I'm also a big fan of their first 2 albums, and I thought the last one was pretty decent as well.

I really like the album, but it is pretty clear that they're trying to head into arena rock territory. Not that that's neccessarily a bad thing.

I like these guys, and their stuff is great on the soundtracks I've seen them on, Entourage and Stuck on you...
