From the TMZ article: "We're also told the band will perform tonight as scheduled at the Staples Center in L.A."
Wow! - That is gonna be one emotional show.

I worked the June 18 show at the Amp. And by worked, I really mean, was given the opportunity of a lifetime, by having to sit on stage throughout the entire Dave Matthews Band performance to make sure nobody crashed the set. So for nearly three hours, I sat maybe seven feet away from LeRoi Moore, and listened... and numerous times had to pick my jaw up from off the floor.
Dave Matthews can be a dirty word on this board sometimes, but man, was that the concert experience of a lifetime. To see the seven of them on stage (the five original members, plus touring guests Tim Reynolds and Rashawn Ross) just kicking the shit out of every song they played... man. It's still hard to describe two months later. It's right up there with playing hockey with Sloan and drinking from the Stanley Cup.
Knowing it was one of his last shows with the band doesn't make it any more special now, but it does make me realize how lucky I was to be in that position, that night.
The first Dave show I ever saw, Aug 10 2001 will always be one for the books. LeRoi's work that night, especially on Bartender and Say Goodbye -- man, they're hard performances to top. It's definitely what will be my soundtrack for bed tonight.
With only the fondest memories and thoughts for the family,
Pat

Truly sad. Not only has Dave lost a band member but a friend as well.

Very sad indeed. I just found out today that I'm going down to the Gorge next weekend for a double shot of the DMB...unfortunately sans LeRoi.

Wow, just came back from a month in Central Asia...I didn't hear of this, I'm quite shocked. I've see him/them three times, each was a memorable show.
