I bought a notebook pc and on my old pc (i still have it) I had a bunch of songs (not purchased songs) in my iTunes that I downloaded or burned from friends on there. They are all mp3's burned to cd-r's and when I try to rip them onto my new pc using windows media player the tracks arent showing up? I know for sure they're on the discs..what gives?
I want to put them on my new mp3 player (zen) maybe there's another way, anyone? Im used to doing things the iPod/iTunes way, but I found synching it with wmp seems the easiest with this new player.

Why do you sync? I've never understood the point of doing so and whenever I have tested out syncing in the past, it made adding media to my player too damn slow.
Because it is a Creative product and MTP compliant, you should simply be able to drag and drop your media right in windows. Have you tried doing this?

none of these are slights against the iPod, Ive had two iPods and I liked them both, this is just what I personally like about the zen..
-very light and compact, my iPod video was heavy I didnt like having it in any of my pockets, but thats just me.
-FM tuner, I do like some radio from time to time
-SD slot for extra memory
-nice user interface
-great sound
-microphone/sound recorder (although Im sure Ill never use it, but if you ever want to record a conversation, its there)
-long battery life
plus it does all the things that my iPod could do...plays video, pictures..etc. Also Im not into iTunes like lots of people are, 95% of my music comes from my cd collection so I have no real use for it anyways. Plus the Zen supports unprotected AAC files and songs from the iTunes store if need be and its very user friendly I think. So maybe it comes down to preference or personal taste, Ive had both and I liked my iPod but I like this one better.
