Counting Crows- Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings
#1

Anyone else enjoying this album as much as I am? These guys were one of my favorite bands back in the early 90s. "August & Everything After" and "Recovering the Satellites" were both amazing albums, but I didn't care much for their output since then and I lost interest. This new record is a brilliant return to form. It's great to have them back.

I watched Private Sessions on A&E last week, which featured their performance. They sounded great, and it was really interesting to hear Adam expound on the writing process, fame, etc. He has really warmed to his role as "band leader" in the past few years. It seems that a lot of his tenativeness has worn away, and he's much more at ease with himself and his art.

I'll have to pick up the album when I have some extra cash; I can't wait to hear it all!

I'm trying to get tickets to the Molson Ampitheatre show, my girlfriend absolutely loves these guys but we've never gotten a chance to see them before. I'll have to check out the new album, I've heard the two songs they released online a couple of weeks ago they were pretty good...

I've been enjoying the new album, and I've had a real (brand new) renaissance since it came out. I forgot how great they are. I was (pleasantly) surprised how rocky it is. I hope to see them live again soon - They were a great show.

I'll pick it up as I've heard good things about it, and have been a fan off an on since August.

I want to see them here in Toronto but they are touring with Maroon 5 and I don't think I can suffer through that.

Yeah, fair play. I wouldn't 45 minutes of Moron 5 on anyone. I guess you could just turn up late...

just wait till they finish their set then go in, I wouldnt skip a band just cause the opener sucked. if that was the case I would have not seen half the bands I have..hell I sat through over an hour of conershop just to see Oasis. sometimes you have to make sacrifices.

Maroon 5 before The Hip was the longest set I've ever had to go through.

This coming from a Justin Timberlake fan?

Or maybe CC are the opener? In which case I could avoid Maroon 5 altogether, but I'd be paying full ticket price for an opening set.

I'd feel physically sick and despairing in equal measure if that were the case.

that would be just wrong..but i really doubt that would be the case. unless they were taking turns.

Yup, they really rock out on this disc. Especially the first few songs. "1492" kicks my ass, "Hanging Tree" is catchy as hell, and "Cowboys" is hands down the best rocker they've written since "Angels of the Silences". The more I listen to this album, the better it gets.
