I'm sorry to be the proverbial "Debbie Downer" here, but where the hell is this information coming from? I got pretty excited the first time I read this but there's no links to any sites, none of the bands have posted anything about this show and sorry but I've never seen the original poster before.(?) I know I'll feel alot better when I've got somebody (possibly MAv) whom can confirm these rumours...?

BakersBrew has posted a couple of heads-up notices in the past that proved to be true... so I'll take it as the truth until proved otherwise.

Believe me when I say that I doubted the news when told about four weeks ago. But, my sources tell me that the Mix 97 in Belleville will be announcing the show tomorrow. Zwicks park seems like an unlikely venue (Im not sure how they will work out traffic details). As far as Mav is concerned, Im sure that he doesnt care to lose his employment with the Hip for leaking something prior to the agreed promotional date. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Mix97 (a pop station that likely just heard the song Courage a few years ago and stappled it to their play list). And, I don't have anything to lose with respect to letting people know. I just can't reveal my source. But, how about this? I own a bar just over the bridge from where the concert is going to take place. If I am incorrect, you are welcome to stop in anytime for a beverage and a meal. If I happen to be correct, then I expect you to stop in prior to the show and buy me a beer. Fair? It will be a cool spot to see a show...right on the water, and likely a little warmer than it has been the past few months.

lol, I suppose if Chris is gonna back you up on this I'll have to take it as truth (or at least probable). That paragraph you've written has soothed any further nay saying that I had left in me. What's the bar called, I'll be sure to stop by with some buddies before the show.

Big John FM in Saint John is reporting "a huge rock concert announcement" tomorrow afternoon. Also, "They've rocked Saint John several times before".
With the potential of a Hip show announcement tomorrow / summer tour announcement, my head is spinning with anticipation.

Another part of me realizes that it will probably be Bryan Adams or someone though.

But if it's The Hip at the Imperial.... wow.

I'll stop getting myself stoked for this.

Hey Cochise; There is no cover for the Neil Young tribute show. It should be excellent. Jeremy Rouse formerly of Greenstar is playing in the show. He is likely the best guitarist that we have had since taking over the place.
And thanks to the other dude for having some faith. Our spot is called the Village Pump. I will certainly be doing some sort of Hip weekend for that event. I just haven't thought of what yet. Ofcourse, I would like to invite Robby Baker over to autograph my picture up in our bar.
As far as a summer tour is concerned...I don't know. I doubt it. My guess is there will be some recording sessions in Bath this summer as Downie spends the summers closer to Kingston these days with family. Their "pattern" seems to keep them off the road for the most part during what will likely be a recording year. Please come back Don Smith! Sorry pretend you didnt hear that.

What is Don doing these days? I know what he was doing approximately 17 years ago...completing production work on the second of the 2 best sounding Hip albums ever recorded...IMO
