I think this will make for a march/may release date of the next Record sooner the better of course-- i know the process vary's but 5-6months would make sense- what does everyone think?


Following a U.S. summer tour to support his second solo effort, Battle of the Nudes, Downie embarked on a long-awaited vacation to France with his wife and three children
Trips to the Louvre and the French countryside left him duly inspired, Downie says. He's now soaking up the final two weeks of life as a solo artist before embarking on a period of winter woodshedding with his day-job bandmates in the Hip. The band will resume work on its upcoming ninth studio release starting Sept. 14 -- the day after Downie's solo West Coast tour ends

I hope that Gord's solo stuff will boost the musical innovation and overall quality of the Hip's material. After what I consider their worst album ever - IVL - I am starting to think the Hip should break up and let Gord's records stand alone, since they're so much better than recent Hip stuff. PROVE ME WRONG, GUYS...make it an awesome album!!! I mean, I'm joking...I don't want the Hip to break up...but you know what I mean.
