Canadian rocker Jeff Healey has died of cancer at age 41

I didn't realize he was sick. His night club is quite popular here in Toronto, as is/was his jazz radio show.

I had no idea he was sick either, that just totally got me by surprise. Thats too bad, he was a great guitarist, I really liked his music and he always put on a good show.

apparently it was cancer that caused his blindness, he's been fighting it his whole life, I didnt know that.

Wow, that is a shock ... I had no idea that he was ill, or indeed that he was only 41.

I have his first album around here someplace. I remember seeing him do a free concert in the park around the time that record came out. He put on a good show.

Wow, i knew he had health issues the last while, but this still comes as a shock. I was a big fan of Jeff's and was hoping to catch him live someday.

Just a few hours ago i was watching a Bryan Adams dvd of all of his live performance from TV (award shows, leno/letterman, etc.), and Jeff presented BA with an "entertainer of the year" Juno.

One of the first real rock concerts I ever went to was the Jeff Healey Band at Race City Speedway in Calgary, 1988 I think. The dude was an amazing guitarist and always put on a great show. And of course I'll always remember him from the movie "Road House". Sad to see him go. Hard to believe he was only 41.

The fact that he was only 41 is was amazes me. "See The Light" came out in 1988... when he was only 21! Wow.
