If you get a chance check out the island of Capris. It's insanely beautiful. I don't think you're anywhere near it but it's definatley worth the trip if you make it. Don't be feeling guilty about the deliciousness that is the pizza, make sure you head to an authentic pizzaria outside of the tourist stuff because its definatley different. i stayed in rome and florence while backpacking a few years ago. rome was my favourite of the trip, but florence was right up there too. so much to see and do. as well as eat. such great food in italy.
what are your plans for the 8 days? going to go north for some skiing or just relax and spoil yourselves?
enjoy your trip! im sure it will be a great time.
