Thank you to Natalie Martini for helping with the demo. Does anyone had first hand knowledge of the lyrics for this tune. As I mentioned early I am involved in an effort to record an tribute album. These lyrics are difficult to decipher base on the original recordings?

Hey Chris - thank you for listing these - i too found these but there seem to be a lot of inaccuracies or contradictions. I am pretty sure the first line is "say goodbye to my old/own whisper chain"
the problem is we are in the studio over the next while and having a devil of a time deciphering these. i thought someone might have asked Gord and others first hand.

That song is old, and was never released so I doubt that even if some one asked him that he would remember. There are many documented instances of him forgetting the lyrics to songs they perform.

It's one of my favourite Hip songs. Which version do you have? I've heard three, I think, though my favourite is the acoustic one that came with the Road Apples demos.
