A note from Hawkins, Stanley, Alexander, Nichols and Parker, otherwise known as Lowest of the Low.

Thanks for fastening your seatbelts with us and coming along on what has been a beautiful and bumpy ride. Since we are all so deep into other parts of our lives, now seems like the best time ever to finally say good-bye to Lowest of the Low. It has been an amazing 17 years of ups and downs and we now have these two last chances to celebrate the glorious past...

So please join us at either the Horseshoe Tavern on December 4th, 2007 (as part of the Horseshoe's 60th Anniversary celebrations) or in Buffalo on December 8th, 2007 at Club Infinity.

Hope we will see you at these two last shows.

Tuesday's show at the Horseshoe was incredible and a huge love in.
Packed beyond belief, the Low gave it back in true form. I couldn't get over
the number of people who professed the most amazing things, like that their music is the soundtrack to their lives, how their songs mean so much to them, or how 16 years later, they still have Shakespeare My Butt on heavy rotation. That to me, must be so fulfilling for them to hear.
Truly one of the great bands and vastly underappreciated.

if all those people who bought Shakespear My Butt bought the rest of their albums maybe the wouldn't be throwing in the towel, Hallucegania was a way better album that SMB.

Agreed. I love that album. "Sordid Fiction" was a damn good record as well and I was hoping they'd make at least one more, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. I'm glad Ron is still making records though. His new solo disc is amazing.

Re-releasing Shakespeare My Butt on November 23rd and playing Lees Palace in Toronto Dec 4th & 5th.

If there's any album that truly deserves the deluxe remaster treatment, it's definitely this one. One of my favorite records of all time by one of my favorite bands of all time. Shakespeare My Butt was the soundtrack to my 20s (along with Day for Night and Phantom Power of course). The original album was a very lo-fi recording, so I'm glad it's getting a proper make-over. The DVD portion should be pretty cool too.

Lucky bastard! Over the years I've been lucky enough to have seen the Low exactly 4 times live. Once way back in '94 in Calgary just before their break-up. Twice in 2000/2001 during the reunion tour. And then once in Calgary during the "Sordid Fiction" tour. I'd give anything to attend one of the Toronto gigs, as it looks like these will officially be their final shows.

Got to see the last Thrush Hermit show at the palace and now I get to see the last Low show. My buddy couldn't afford to go to the Hermit show and he's regretted it ever since, so he's definitely on board for this one.

i hope not anyway! i love ron's solo shows, but there's something magical about seeing him play with steve et al.

there was a notation in the confirmation email i got that indicated that no tickets would be printed.
i shall have to make some inquiries...

EDIT - where did you order from? now that i think about it, it may be because I got mine through maplemusic. ticketmaster probably would send....
