I can't even begin to estimate how many hours I listened to this man's words as they filtered into my transistor radio, night after muggy night, summer after hot summer.
I never met the man, but I was probably more familiar with Joe, the man, than I was with either of my own grandfathers. I'll always have a special place in my heart for The Ol' Lefthander.
