I take the odd gander at the set lists that have been posted and I started to notice that the number of songs seemed to average around 19 over the past leg of the summer tour.
I remembered last year seeing 21 and 22 songs at a few shows in SW Ontario and noticed the number started to dwindle down before the West Coast swing this year.
Does anyone know of a reason this may have happened? The longer the set the better, obviously, and I'm hoping for as many songs as possible down East.
I haven't gone back to previous years at this point but it seems to me they used to do 2 and 3 encore sets in the past and now have it set at 1. I haven't reviewed the song counts from those concerts but just another observation I was thinking about.
(Some of the guys at work were talking about a Neil Peart book and he had talked about Rush only doing one encore set or something like that and I wondered if it was coincidence. That's just hearsay on my part though - not sure of the details.)
