They played a secret show downtown at the Cantos Music Museum today, and my ears are still recovering from the hearing loss I suffered at the hands of Jack White's ridiculously loud guitar. I was standing about 5 feet from Jack & Meg as they ripped through a short, but kick-ass 40 minute set. A buddy of mine works in the industry here in town and he had the honor of shuttling the band around in a van this morning. Long story short, he called me around 1:00 and told me where the show was taking place and I jumped in my car and headed down there as quickly as I could. The band didn't officially announce it until 2pm on their messageboard, so luckily I was the first person there. By the time the band started playing, there were only about 40 or 50 people who had shown up. It was amazing! Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures or anything, but I'm sure the entire thing will be up on Youtube by the end of the day. I also snagged a t-shirt for only $5!
Oh, and Meg White is quite possibly the cutest woman alive. She's so tiny in person!

Sweet! Just got back from their show at the Dome. Man Jack can play. Great show!

Killer show at the dome tonight. I was wondering if they were going to play somewhere around town today. Wish I was by a computer this afternoon to find out about it.

Where was the Hipbase update on this one???I would've been all over it. I also went to the show, and man, they rocked. Jack is really something, and Meg is also very steady, and has a great....stage presence.
Only low point for me was the song he did on bass, I thought it was a little weak.
Also, Icky Thump was amazing live, I wish they opened and closed the show with it!

saw the white stripes 3 times in 24 hours and saw the constantines as well. was at the calgary dome show then made it downtown for the constantines, slept, drove back to edmonton found out about the secret show so booked it over to the east side was about 10 ft from Jack, then saw em at the shaw later that night.... crazy weekend.

Sounds like they played on a city bus and then a bridge in Winnipeg. Plenty of video on youtube as well.
