My favorite is most definitely the first time it was ever played live, January 1st, 2000 in Toronto. In the Millenium section, with all my favorite Hip fans, jaw on the floor listening to this beautiful, mysterious new song. It was stuck in my head on the long wintery drive back to Winnipeg after the show, and was finally satisfied when Alan Moore sent me his recording of the show. Alan, where art thou?? Anyways, the original version was absolutely sublime. Anyone else here who was at the show will agree, guaranteed.

Indeed. To this day I believe they should have stuck to the original, simple arrangement from that fine show.

I was in the Millenium Zone for the that show and would agree that it sounded fantastic, although the memory most closely associated with that song for me would have to be the version at the Horseshoe a few days prior. I haven't heard the version since, but pretty sure Johnny had the pre-recorded drum loop for the end with him on stage.

Which got me thinking about the "sit in front of front row" promotions The Hip used to have. Millenium Zone, Phantom Zone...Getting those tickets always proved to be a challenge. They'd announce a location at 4:00pm day of show over the radio and the first 20? or maybe 50? to get there with canned goods/or warm clothing got wristbands allowing them to buy two tickets. People stopping their cars in the middle of the street, jumping out of cabs and taking off their leather jacket to donate.

For 01/01/00 show, pretty sure they we found them in the U of T campus.
Hershey center was Paladium, Good Shepherd in Hamilton as well Dundurn Castle maybe?? Hectic times, but well worth the reward.

Off topic I know, but oh well.

Runner up version of Lake Fever for me would be Massey Hall '00

I think you should have called your CD:

"Again, I'm Talking to the Lake"

The NYD version of Lake Fever is 1 zillion times better than the album version, so I'll vote for that one.
