I knew this would happen..
Looks like that is the last day of my course (if our training dept gets their finger out & confirms my place) but might be set aside for resits.
How about that for an incentive to study!!

I wonder why the venue change?
Is the Astoria bigger or smaller than the Empire?

D

Still picking up the elderly from the floor, still dealing with the drunks, now wrestling seals and posting it on twitter.. @richardilderton
'Whoops' is not a word the patient wants to hear...apparently

they're about the same size -- 2000 people. i like shepherd's bush a bit better, but The Astoria is one of London's premiere venues.

such a shame the hip aren't on any of the summer festivals??

Will definetely have to book tickets to The Astoria gig. This will be my first Hip show.

I live in the Midlands, near Birmingham, so i will have to book a hotel as well. Anyone know if the hip will be playing any other dates in England? Usually they only play one or two shows in london, if at all.

regardless of that, i think it will definetely be worth the effort.

anyone else planning to go?

I'm trying to get a couple of mates (who i've introduced to the Hip) to come along with me. Really looking forward to this, even though I only discovered the Hip late last year they has fast become one of my very fav bands, really looking forward to seeing them live.

Anyone have any idea how quickly this will sellout? I'm having trouble getting in touch with one mate and don't really want to book till i've found out if he can make it or not.

Soupy, I booked for last years show at Shepherds Bush Empire about a month after the tickets went on sale and there were still a fair few avavilable. I wouldn't worry too much (especially as they don't go out until tomorrow).

Cool. If anyone wants to meet up, I'm up for that. It's a Friday so I'll try and get the day off work. I'm hoping to do some of the other Euro dates as well (depending on when they are).

Hey Matt, have you found a link where you can buy the tickets yet? I can't find anything anywhere.

They go on sale tomorrow Ben, but the gig is already listed on the Astoria sub-site (it being a Mean Fiddler venue).

I'm definitely up for a meet up for this one, maybe grab a few beers the night before or something like that??Being as the Astoria is due to close down in 2008 it could well be the last chance the Hip have to play there too!
