A really cool electronica / rock fusion group is going on tour, with some Canadian dates as well. It's one of Brian Borcherdt's side projects (along with several other notable Canadians from acts such as Blue Rodeo and Wintersleep), and they call themselves "Holy Fuck". Damn good group, with apparently a crazy live show. I just added both their releases to my collection over the past six months.

i wasnt wild about them when i saw them opening for metric (though they were better than metric live...ouch).

That might have just been because i was standing right near the right speaker and it was loud as fuck; but still.

I also got to see the Islands, which trumped everything else that night for me

Funny, the one time I saw Metric, Uncut opened and blew them out of the water. I really dig their records, but Metric just can't do it live.

Holy Fuck was probably my best concert of 2005. Seeing a bunch of Toronto indie kids, rock critics, and musicians dance on a Thursday during NXNE was a sight to be seen. What a show.

Agreed...I don't even know why bands continue to play there. At least it's better than Ed's....but I don't mind New City; still better than Starlite!
