Match-up #25 - Vaccination Scar Vs. Don't Wake Daddy
I ask you to listen to the two songs in the match-up Back to Back, and consider the lyrics of the song. Feel free to post an unbiased analysis of both songs in this thread, but please refrain from cheerleading or making predictions for your favourites.

Don't Wake Daddy isn't my favourite Hip song...I definitely have to be in the "mood" to listen to it, and when I am, it's awesome.
Also, I never really got Vaccination Scar...it's mediocre at best for the Hip. I still don't think it should have made Yer Favourites. If any song from IBE should have made it, it should have been Nashville, or maybe even Josephine

I've always had the feeling that this board hates Scar...I like it though, and it got my vote.

I really like Scar but I love Don't Wake Daddy. I was really glad when they used it as a regular opener last summer, it sounded amazing.

Neither of the two are in my top rated hip lists but theres something about Don't Wake Daddy that just doesn't seem to bother me like Vaccination Scar does.

I'm not sure that there is anything to "get" when it comes to Vaccination Scar. It's a straightforward rock tune that makes amazing use of some great slide guitar.
In terms of Don't Wake Daddy, it really is a different song. I love it, but Scar and Daddy are apples and oranges. But that's the nature of this project.
Pick'em if you ask me. I voted for Vaccination Scar because I love to rock out to it. It was tough though.

I remember the first time I heard "Don't Wake Daddy". I actually had to sit in my car for a few moments afterward to digest what I had just heard.
The first time I heard "Vaccination Scar" I was excited to hear some new Hip and was sorely disappointed. In my opnion its just...flat.
Chalk another vote up for DWD.

I've said it before, Daddy has a lot of qualities that y'hear in Grace, too...So it's got my vote...
