Hey. Has anyone done some online shopping at this site? Is it safe?
I am interested in buying some t-shirts from this site. I've had a past experience with another site where I bought a $25 t-shirt and ended up paying $68 due to shipping. I'm sure that was its own special case but still.
Is this site good? Can I trust it? Will I be screwed out of money?

It said the total was $32 or something which I was fine with. Then I got my Visa. It was coming from California. I don't know what happened but don't worry I got my money back after 7 months. Anyways...back to cafepress.

it's true. that sort of things happens when ordering from the US. i ordered a t-shirt for my brother from hollister co. and the "grand total" was $38. then they sent a confirmation e-mail saying the grand total was $58. i argued it but of course no one listened and i had to pay the $58.
as far as cafepress goes, my brother recently ordered a calender from there. aside from it taking a month or so to arrive, there was no problems with the price. good luck.

I ordered from there for a Chirstmas gift and didn't get charged a crazy amount. I believe I had to pay duty on it though.
Also, before you make your purchase, be sure to use a coupon. They're usually Save $5 on $20, but there have been better deals available in the past. Google search "Cafepress Coupons" or one good site is this one: http://cpcoupons.com/2007/02/12/februar ... /#comments
Once you've completed your order, but sure to post whatever coupon you got from your transaction.
Good luck.

i bought a bunch of "GBV" bumper stickers (the "country identifier" kind) and had no extra charge. that said the package was likely smaller than a package for a shirt.
is the whole "huge charge" thing random?
i bought a bunch of used zepp vinyls off some dude from ebay and like $20. it got here and they asked $60 more. i said stick it.
and also got two mogwai hoodies from scotland. i think they charged me like $80 extra. insane. i payed it though as one was a gift.
i've ordered loads of big-packaged stuff before though and never got dinged.
