Roger Waters is Pink Floyd............. well at least in my opinion anyways.

Don't get me wrong, I know David Gilmor contributed a lot to Floyd, I would go see him solo any time also. But the brains behind it was Waters..........

I wouldn't pass up the chance if I were you.......

I caught his show here at the ACC last September and I think I paid about $100 a ticket (seats were in the lower bowl, can't remember how much the floors were going for but it was a lot). Worth every penny though. Not sure what the format will be this time around, but that night the setlist was like this:

Roger Waters is Pink Floyd............. well at least in my opinion anyways.

I agree with that. Gilmour contributed to their sound, but it was Waters who was the brains of the outfit.

I normally wouldn't pay that for a concert, but for Waters I'd make an exception.

Roger Waters will return to the United States and Canada this spring to perform Pink Floyd's epic The Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety. The 24-date tour stops in arenas and amphitheatres beginning May 18 in West Palm Beach, Florida, and ends July 14 in Toronto.

"The Dark Side Of The Moon" - The Return Engagement comprises two full sets plus encores performed by Waters and his band, plus the state-of-the-art production fans have come to expect from Waters.

The first set will serve as an overview of his career including early Pink Floyd material - classic compositions from The Wall, Animals, Wish You Were Here, and The Final Cut - as well as from Waters' solo work, Amused To Death.

Set two will present Waters and the band performing The Dark Side Of The Moon, from start-to-finish.

The touring band features Andy Fairweather-Low (guitar and vocals), Snowy White (guitar), Dave Kilminster (guitar and vocals), Jon Carin (keyboards and vocals), Graham Broad (drums), Harry Waters (Hammond organ), and Ian Ritchie (saxophone) and Katie Kissoon, PP Arnold and Carol Kenyon (vocals).

The concerts utilize elaborate large-scale video projections and theatrical staging, while the music is delivered via a "360° quadraphonic sound system immersing the audience in a 3-dimensional hyperworld."

Waters performed The Dark Side Of The Moon for the first time as a solo artist during his 2006 world tour which included North American concerts last fall.

Prior to last year's trek, tour his last live performances of the work took place with Pink Floyd more than 30 years ago.

Only thing that sucks is the T.O. date is at the cavernous Rogers Centre.

I've seen Roger a coupla times and they were incredible shows.

Wouldn't expect anything short of another great performance, provided he doesn't bore you to tears as he drones on an on about politics, which he has apparently been doing of late.

I said "apparently" because of that one rant someone posted on here a few months ago.

He certainly didn't say much of anything between songs when I saw him a few years back.....

Re that rant a while back, I've heard the bootleg. There is no political banter from the stage. The music itself, though, is political. Reviews criticizing Waters for politicizing are reacting to his music, not to anything he's saying between songs.

Waters is a pacifist and is politically left -- no surprise there. Frankly, that's the sensibility that created the music of Pink Floyd, and those that didn't notice were too stoned when they were listening to clue in. That's the sensibility of The Final Cut, The Wall, Animals, Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of the Moon. You don't think DSOTM is political? Come on.

The fact that some reviewers still want to like Pink Floyd's music, but object that it fails to reflect their world view, is kinda pathetic, imo. It's like saying you're a big fan of Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven, but you don't like paintings of lakes and trees.
